DISTRICT LEVEL NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY PARK

Energy awareness is increasing day by day, as energy crisis become the main issue of planners and decision makers of the nation. 

 District Level Non Conventional Energy Park is one of the feathers on the cap of the institution.

The Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources ( MNES), Govt. of India has sanctioned and funded the park through the state nodal agency, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), Pune. It is a Special Area Development Project,MNES of Rs. 10 lacs.

The park was Inaugurated at the hands of Hon. Shri Vilasraoji Muttemwar, Minister, NES, GOI, on September 28,2006.

The devices and equipments kept the park are:

• Solar Power Plant
• Solar PV Pump
• Solar PV Lantern
• Solar Box & Parabolic Type Cookers
• Solar Disitillation Unit
• Solar Water Heating System
• Water Pumping Wind Mill
• Solar PV Television
• Solar Educational Kit

Cope with the aim and objective of MNES, college has constituted Renewable Energy Club, a students body exclusively dedicated to aware the school and college going pupils, about such sources. They observes Science Day and Sun Day every year other than the different programmes.

 Prof. P.A.Potdukhe submitted his Ph.D. entitled " Development, simulation and testing of new type of solar drier for agriculture product" to RTM University. The final year students under the guidance of Prof. A.S.Nilawar have undertaken a major project on the production of Biogass, which has been installed in the hostel premises.

 College helps different schools in project preparation as per their curriculum since last two years in the area of renewable energy sources. College also offers consultancy in the area of rural energy planning, energy conservation & management etc.

 The long term goal goal of the college is to set a well equipped non-coventional energy laboratory.

 The park is working under the convenership of our Principal and Co-ordinator  Prof. D. Subroto.
