The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has to face the challenges of bridging the gap of advancing technology, emerging ideas, current trends and the curriculum. Established in 1983 the department has an intake capacity of 90. The all-pervasive technology and electronic gadgets demand dynamism in imparting knowledge to the students. The department is well equipped to address to these demands. It has qualified & experienced faculty and operational laboratories to deal with the latest trends in the electronics engineering. From mobile phones to optical communication and from wireless sensor networks to embedded systems there are exciting avenues to explore and work on projects. The knowledge imparted in the classroom teaching and practical experience gained while working on projects and in well-equipped laboratories of the department the students shape their domain knowledge and get ready to pursue careers in this constantly evolving discipline.
For the technical inputs beyond the curriculum, the department organizes seminars, workshops, guest lecturers throughout the session. The department has to its credit a grant of Rs. 5 lakhs from AICTE, Government of India for the improvement of UHF laboratory.

The students pursuing the undergraduate course in ECE undergo a full curriculum of university and also participate in the academic activities of the department to keep them aware of the trends in the technology. There are many exciting areas apart from the university curriculum in which students can work according to their interests and think of pursuing the carrier in the field of their choice. The department plays a catalytic role in this regard.

Guest lectures on the latest technologies and innovations prove to be of great academic importance. Professional associations, such as the IEEE student chapter, provide a platform for gaining knowledge.

The ECE Department prepares students with leadership qualities, technical know-how, and management ideas through properly designed programmes for the overall development of students. The students have obtained placements at leading companies such as EPIC RESEARCH, CINIF TECHNOLOGIES LTD, Zenus Group, Axiom Tech Guru Pvt Ltd, RESOLUTE ELECTRONICS, CMS-IT, TECH MAHINDRA. Some are pursuing their higher studies in prestigious institutions in India and abroad.
